Key ingredients

Niacinamide

Niacinamide, a form of Vitamin B3, is among the most researched ingredients in skincare, valued across barrier support, tone and oil balance.

Bakuchiol

Bakuchiol is a plant-derived alternative to retinol that delivers similar visible smoothing without the irritation or sun sensitivity, making it well suited to sensitive skin.

Squalane

Squalane is a lightweight lipid near-identical to one the skin produces itself, absorbing without grease or residue.

Spotlight on science

Dryness is easy to misread. It looks like a lack of water, but more often it's a lack of the oils that keep water in. The skin's outer layer holds moisture using a mix of lipids, and when those run low, water evaporates from the surface faster than skin can replace it. This is why drinking more water or moistening the face does little for genuinely dry skin. The problem isn't the water going in, it's the water getting out.

This is what makes skin-identical lipids useful. Squalane is structurally close to the oils skin produces itself, so rather than sitting on top, it settles into the surface and slows the rate at which water escapes. Bakuchiol works on a different front: a plant-derived molecule that offers retinol's visible smoothing, but without the photosensitivity or barrier disruption that makes conventional retinoids difficult on dry, reactive skin.

Understanding dryness as water-loss rather than water-lack is an important evolution in how skin is cared for, and it changes which ingredients can actually be most effective.
